ACTIVITIES
One of the largest outdoor activity centers in Britain.
Spitfire Shoot has been established 15 years and offers different shooting days to suit all.
Calshot center has a large range of indoor climbing walls for all abilities.
The Hampshire council offers plenty of information on cycle routes.
Portsmouth Naval Gliding Club offer trial lessons over the Solent.
Go Karting for Fun have nearby centers at Eastleigh, Andover and Gosport.

GARDENS AND STATELY HOMES
Formerly the 14th century Great Gatehouse of Beaulieu Abbey. Set in glorious grounds and gardens with immaculate spreading lawns and walkways overlooking the Beaulieu River.

MUSEUMS
National museum set in the heart of the New Forest.
The famous writer's birthplace in a modest Portsmouth house is now preserved as a museum furnished in the style of the early 19th century.

The House provides an insight into the life of a writer of her time.

MARINAS AND WATERSIDE
The home of World Yachting.
Extensive outlet shopping center in Portsmouth with plenty of bars and entertainment too.
Small village situated just outside Southampton. It is famed for its association with yachting and aviation.
A beautiful, Georgian market town situated at the western end of the Solent.
A bustling Quay, quality beaches and the stunning natural harbour make Poole a fine addition to the South Coast.
Situated on the outskirts of Portsmouth this attractive marina, with a Mediterranean atmosphere, has many restaurants and shops.
PLACES OF HISTORIC INTEREST
Ancient abbey, founded in 1204 by Cistercian monks, and set in the Heart of the New Forest.
The medieval castle is now an imposing ruin and a popular tourist center drawing on it’s many years of history.
The oldest commissioned warship in the world, HMS Victory, on display in Portsmouth, was once the flagship of Admiral Lord Nelson's Mediterranean fleet at the battle of Trafalgar.
On display in Portsmouth the Mary Rose is the only 16th century warship on display anywhere in the world.
The original railway runs 10 miles from Alresford to Alton, and is a relic of times gone by.
Winchester Cathedral, with its origins in the 7th century, has played a fundamental part in the life of this ancient City and a role in the history of our nation.
PLACES OF NATURAL BEAUTY
Characterised by strongly rolling chalk downland, dissected by both deep and shallow valleys with numerous distinct hilltops, ridges and scarps, the Downs are both striking and conspicuous.

The new National Park offers one of the Countries finest and diverse areas for fauna and flora.

THEME PARKS
Based in Windsor, has over 50 fantastic rides and attractions.
A good value theme park situated just off junction 2 of the M27.
Plenty of adrenaline pumping rides awaits you just at the top of the M3.
WALKING
The South Coast offers some of the most stunning walking in the Country.
The outskirts of the city very quickly open out onto the South Downs National Park and a number of long-distance walking paths with plenty of welcoming inns along the way.
The council offers much information on walking routes and guides.
There are plenty of great walks through these mystical woods and rolling heaths.
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRY PARKS
Many farm animals that the kids can stroke and even get involved to help feed them. Other family activities are on offer like tractor and trailer rides.
Voted ‘UK Family Attraction of the Year 2002’ by the Good Britain Guide, Longleat offers a wonderland of attractions to suit all ages, most notably the safari park.
Set in 100 acres of woodland, it can be enjoyed at any time of year. With 200 species on show it should help to stop the kids getting bored.
Set within 65 acres it provides sanctuary for over 150 primates, containing 15 species. Monkey World was set up in 1987 and Today works in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia.
Extends for over 750 acres and includes walking and cycling trails, the tree-top trail, adventure playgrounds for the kids and an 18-hole golf course.
Set in 25 acres of ancient woodland at the edge of the New Forest. Visitors can see many species of otter; European wolf, 12 species of owls, badgers, foxes and deer. Other mammals to be seen are polecats, mink, pine martens and highly endangered Scottish wildcat, lynx, wallaby and wild boar.
BEACHES
One of the most popular beaches in the UK.
The island currently has 13 award winning beaches.
This stretch of coastline was awarded Natural World Heritage status in 2001 and has many of the countries finest beaches.
