Ancient abbey, founded in 1204
by Cistercian monks, and set in the Heart of the New

| WILDLIFE AND COUNTRY PARKS |
|
Many farm animals that the kids
can stroke and even get involved to help feed them. Other
family activities are on offer like tractor and trailer
rides. |

Voted ‘UK Family Attraction
of the Year 2002’ by the Good Britain Guide, Longleat
offers a wonderland of attractions to suit all ages,
most notably the safari park. |
|
Set in 100 acres of woodland, it
can be enjoyed at any time of year. With 200 species
on show it should help to stop the kids getting bored. |
|
Set within 65 acres it provides
sanctuary for over 150 primates, containing 15 species.
Monkey World was set up in 1987 and Today works in conjunction
with foreign governments from all over the world to stop
the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia. |

Extends for over 750 acres and
includes walking and cycling trails, the tree-top trail,
adventure playgrounds for the kids and an 18-hole golf
course. |

Set in 25 acres of ancient woodland at the edge of the New Forest. Visitors can see many species of otter; European wolf, 12 species of owls, badgers, foxes and deer. Other mammals to be seen are polecats, mink, pine martens and highly endangered Scottish wildcat, lynx, wallaby and wild boar. |
