The traditional style pop-up sweet shop is even returning to the courtyard! You’ll definitely see us there... discover traditional tales and family fables in the mansion house as they revisit some of our favourite scenes from Christmases of Hinton Ampner’s past, and explore the house like never before as different rooms revisit some of Hinton’s most loved scenes and stories as they are brought to life. 1. Steam Illuminations at the Watercress Line

The Watercress Line heritage railway is set to sparkle and shine with the return of the spectacular Steam Illuminations for the festive season! And this year... it will be even brighter. The unique festive light show will feature thrilling rides on a digital LED passenger steam train, illuminated inside and out with thousands of fully controllable colour-mixing lights creating flashing patterns. All the family will have fun with their LED wristbands that flash in time with the train lights, as they travel the 10-mile return journey through the Hampshire countryside - and let’s not forget the festive music all the way through the journey of course! Truly magical!

  1. Aladdin

Make your wishes come true for Christmas 2021 with a spellbinding production of Aladdin! Will our hero be able to find the magic lamp and marry the girl of his dreams - Princess Jasmine? Or will Aladdin’s plans be thwarted by the villainous Abanazar, who wants the lamp - and the princess - for himself? You’ll have to find out for yourself... magic, mirth and mayhem abound in this timeless rags to riches tale, brought to you by the same team behind 2019s panto, Dick Whittington and 2020s Four Dames in Search of a Panto. With original songs, a great cast and a hilarious script, there’s no doubt this years’ family show will be pure Genie-us!

  1. Winchester Christmas Light Switch On

Be sure to pop the 18th November in your diaries for this years annual Christmas Light Switch On in Winchester! For one night and one night only, this magical event is truly one you wouldn’t want to miss. Returning this year, in addition to the main stage, Santa’s Sleigh and the big screen in The Broadway, the Giant Inflatable Snow Globe will be installed in The Square! The Snow Globe is part of a fundraising initiative for Spare Change for Lasting Change and 100% of donations will go directly to two local charities working together to support people experiencing homelessness in Winchester: these charities being The Winchester Beacon (formerly Winchester Churches Nightshelter) and Trinity Winchester. Bring your friends and family along this November - and don’t forget your big warm coat, hat, gloves and scarf!
